Russian Jack Springs Skate Park is a free public skatepark set within Anchorage's wooded Russian Jack Springs Park, one of the city's largest and most-loved green spaces. Revitalized with help from the Anchorage Park Foundation, it gives local skaters a solid concrete spot in the heart of Alaska's biggest city.

The layout packs in a good variety of street and transition features: a quarter pipe, a bank, a kinked rail, a funbox, and both a small and a large spine to link creative lines. It's a fun, well-rounded park for skaters, BMX riders, and scooter kids working on their bag of tricks.

Because it shares the park with a seasonal ice rink and miles of trails, Russian Jack Springs is a true four-season recreation hub — skate in the long Alaskan summer daylight, then explore the surrounding woods and trails. It's free and open to the public.

Bring a helmet and pads, and take advantage of Anchorage's midnight-sun summers for marathon evening sessions.
