An offshore reef provides protection for this coconut palm-lined beach along Molokai’s eastern coastline. The shallow and crystal clear nearshore waters are nice for wading, snorkeling and swimming when the sea is calm but should be should not be entered during times of high surf. The beach is sandy with some rocky areas.

- Head southeast on Makaena Pl toward Maluolu Pl (0.3 mi)
- Turn left onto HI-460 (0.2 mi)
- Continue onto HI-450Destination will be on the left(20.3 mi)
Follow Hwy. 450 east toward Halawa Valley and at Mile Marker 20 you will see Murphy’s Beach. A road sign labels it as Mile Marker 20 Beach.
