Mountain Bike

These Moab trails are deceptively named for mountain bikes. This region was so named because the rock was slick for horseshoes. With mountain bike tires, you'll get insanely good grip that allows you to climb just about anything as long as you can keep pedaling. The most difficult portions are not extremely technical but they can get really steep and the falls can be dangerous. There are smaller loops for less experienced bikers. The trails are not cut out of foliage because there is almost none. Instead, you'll find dotted white lines to show you the path. The benefit of these are that they're actually pretty solid lines to ride. Some sections of the trail are shared with dirt bikes.

Never modify trail features. Ride trails when they're dry enough that you won't leave ruts. Speak up when you see others on the trail and always yield to hikers, horses, and others coming uphill. Always ride on the established trail.
