Kimama Wind Caves

Paul, Idaho

12.1 miles NW of Paul, Idaho

The Kimama Wind Caves are a series of lava tubes accessed by a crack in the middle of the desert north of Paul, Idaho. These lava tubes create a labyrinth of tunnels to explore. These tunnels should only be ventured into by those with caving experience and proper lighting equipment. The tubes are of varying height, making it difficult to stand up straight through most of the tunnels and a tight crawl through some parts. Some parts of the cave have been collapsed by time and are closed to visitors. The caves should be explored with caution and respect.

The Kimama Wind Caves have a lot of graffiti throughout the system, with some of the content being offensive to some audiences.
