Brewster Beach is a sand beach on Wolfeboro Bay, the arm of Lake Winnipesaukee that reaches into downtown Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. The land belongs to Brewster Academy, the private boarding school whose campus sits just uphill, and the Town of Wolfeboro has leased it since 2001. The Wolfeboro Department of Parks and Recreation runs the beach, and it is the only one of the town's three beaches where the town code says the public can use the beach and the parking lot without a resident sticker or beach pass.

The address is 87 Clark Road, on the south side of the Brewster Academy campus, and the beach is less than a mile south of the town docks and the shops on Main Street, close enough that walking or biking from downtown is easy. A town parking lot sits next to the sand. Park only in the marked spaces, since the town allows parking nowhere else. The town bans trailers of every kind, buses, and commercial vans carrying more than eight people, and it tows violators. No vehicles of any kind are allowed on the sand.

The swim area is a stretch of sand looking out across the bay toward the town's waterfront. This is the beach where the town holds its summer swim lessons and swim team practice, so mornings in July and August can be busy with classes. Lifeguards are not on duty all the time, and the town's own listing says to swim at your own risk when no guard is present. Lake Winnipesaukee is clear and cold early in the season and usually warms into the 70s F by late July. There is no current, but afternoon wind can push a chop into the bay. The beach also hosts the Granite Kid Triathlon each July, which takes over the beach for a Saturday morning.

Swimming and parking are free. There is no gate and no day fee. A town ordinance closes all Wolfeboro beaches, Brewster included, to swimming and parking from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and beach rule violations carry fines starting at $50. The town beach ordinance and its Parks and Recreation facility listing both describe it as open to the general public.

Wolfeboro Bay carries a lot of boat traffic in summer, including tour boats and rental boats heading to and from the town docks, so stay inside the marked swim area and keep children close. The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services samples the water here monthly from June through August, and the town posts the results along with any advisory. Check them after heavy rain or in late summer, when Winnipesaukee sometimes gets cyanobacteria warnings.

The beach has restrooms and picnic tables, and the town invites people to bring lunch or dinner. Brewster Academy students use the waterfront too, so expect some school activity during the academic year. In winter the town plows the lot, and the beach becomes an access point onto the frozen bay for ice fishing and skiing once the ice is safe.
