Salt Wash is a much more technical route compared to the other, neighboring trail Sovereign. The Salt Wash trial includes both a mix of flowy singletrack as well as some more technical slickrock. One the trail, the corridor is more narrow than other trails in the area. The Sovereign trail is so close to Salt Wash that many times the trails will intersect, making it possible to ride both trails.

If going south to north on the Salt Wash trail, expect an uphill climb most of the time. The trail will have several shorter climbs with descends throughout, but for the most part is an uphill trail. When reaching the top, the trail is a steep downhill ride, as well as very rocky trail and so hiking down might be a safer option.

Never modify trail features. Ride trails when they're dry enough that you won't leave ruts. Speak up when you see others on the trail and always yield to hikers, horses, and others coming uphill. Always ride on the established trail.
