Camp, Hike, Kayak, Mountain Bike, and Swim

Colorado Bend State Park is a beautiful destination with 6 miles of Colorado River front and 35 miles of hiking and biking trails. This lush park offers a variety of activities to its visitors that will make you want to visit again and again to explore it all.

The park has several options for swimmers looking to cool down. One of the best swimming holes is Spicewood Springs. A short wide trail leads to multiple pools and beautiful waterfalls. Swimming is allowed in these spring fed pools as well as in the river, making this the perfect place to splash around on a hot day.

Floating and Kayaking are allowed on the river. Visitors can bring their own kayaks or rent kayaks from the park. Rentals cost $10 an hour for singles and $15 an hour for doubles. Fishing is also allowed in the park.

Colorado Bend State Park has several primitive campsites that are perfect for multi-day backpacking trips and exploring. There are drive-up and walk-up primitive camp sites. The drive up primitive campsites allow RV parking, have nearby water available as well as picnic tables, and cost $15 a night. The walk-in primitive campsites have nearby restrooms and water, picnic tables and fire rings at each site and cost $13 a night.

Cave tours are available in the state park with varying difficulty levels (currently closed due to covid) and are guided by professional cavers.

Park entry costs $5 for visitors 13 and over and is free for those younger than 13.

Never modify trail features. Ride trails when they're dry enough that you won't leave ruts. Speak up when you see others on the trail and always yield to hikers, horses, and others coming uphill. Always ride on the established trail.
