Llano Slab is a public swimming hole on the Llano River. Here the river is slow moving and separated into several pools of varying depth by unique granite formations. The variety in the pools make this swimming hole perfect for exploring, splashing and wading in shallower waters and swimming in the deeper pools. The rocks and sandy beaches that surround the pools of water make for great lounging and sunbathing. The area is surrounded by beautiful green plant and wildflowers in the summer months.

Fishing is allowed on the Llano River with a valid fishing license. Different varieties of fish can be caught year round, including Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Catfish and Carp. White Bass can be found here in the fall during there migration.

Because of it's variety Llano Slab is the perfect destination for people of different skill levels and interests to cool off and enjoy warm sunny days. There is plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the beautiful destination, even on days where the cool waters draw a crowd.

Llano Slab is located just off FM 3404 or Slab Road, and parking is available on either side of the road. It is an easy walk from the parking to the pools. Please be respectful of this natural area and haul all belongings and garbage out with you when you leave.
