Rogers Park is a 3-acre Hernando County park on the south bank of the Weeki Wachee River, right where Shoal Line Boulevard (County Road 597) crosses the river in the Weeki Wachee Gardens area west of Spring Hill. Hernando County Parks and Recreation runs it as a freshwater beach park, and its centerpiece is a man-made white-sand beach with a swimming area facing the river. The water here is spring-fed. The main spring at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park sits about 5.6 river miles upstream, and the river reaches the Gulf roughly 2 miles below the park.

The address is 7244 Shoal Line Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34607, a short drive west of US 19. The paved lot sits between the road and the beach, and it is shared by swimmers, picnickers and people launching boats and kayaks at the county ramp, so on warm weekends it is often full by mid-morning. Trailer parking is provided for the boat ramp.

The swim area runs along the sandy beach on the south side of the river. The bottom near shore is sand. The Weeki Wachee is a large spring run with a steady current, and this lower section is also influenced by the tide coming in from the Gulf. Water leaves the spring upstream at about 74 F and changes a little with weather and tide by the time it reaches the park, so it feels cool in summer and mild in winter. The county lists seasonal lifeguards among the amenities, yet its park page currently states that no lifeguards are on duty and that you swim at your own risk. Treat it as unguarded. Watch for motorboats and paddlers coming and going from the ramp next to the beach, and keep children close to shore. Manatees often move through this part of the river in the cooler months.

There is no admission fee, but parking costs $10 per day, paid through ParkMobile. Hernando County resumed collecting parking fees at its parks on October 1, 2025. An annual county parking pass for $53.25 covers Rogers Park and the other county parks, and vehicles with a Florida disabled parking permit or a disabled veteran parking permit are exempt. The park is listed as open 24 hours a day, every day.

The county closes the park now and then for maintenance, so check the county news page before a long drive. If you paddle upstream from here, know that a state Springs Protection Zone runs from the springhead down to the Rogers Park boat ramp. Beaching, anchoring, mooring and grounding boats are prohibited inside it, and you may not get out of your boat to swim inside the state park boundary. The beach at Rogers Park is the place to swim.

Besides the beach, the park has a boat ramp, a canoe and kayak launch, restrooms, outdoor showers, an observation deck, a picnic shelter and tables, barbecue grills, a sand volleyball court and an aquatic-themed playground that was rebuilt in 2022 along with a new seawall. The county does not rent kayaks here, but private outfitters operate along Shoal Line Boulevard and across the river. Paddling all the way up to the spring and back is a round trip of about 11 miles against the current on the way up, so most casual paddlers turn around much sooner.
