Cerritos Skate Park

Locals rip it up here but didn\'t look fun at all wasted lines everywere. Located at the Cerritos Sports Complex, 19900 Bloomfield Ave., the 10,000-square foot skate park was built by the City for local skating enthusiasts at a cost of $316,724. Some $242,811 of the cost was funded by a Los Angeles County Park Bond Act. This park is tough to skate, if you have no were else to go skate here other wise find a real park. A committee of Cerritos youths and adults helped the City and its architect design the park. The committee members included Ryan Collier, Marty Flax, Neil Flax, Debra Mall, Jamil Mall, Billy Merino, Daniel Plotnik, Zvi Plotnik, Doug Swaim, Omar Vinas, Cameron Vodegel, Taylor Walton and Tim Walton. The park was designed by Purkiss Rose Landscape Architecture to provide a safe and challenging place for skateboarders and in-line skaters of all experience levels. The location, at the east end of the Sports Complex, north of the tennis courts, was selected with help from nearby residents and Sports Complex patrons. The 90-foot by 120-foot park offers a dozen cement \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"street elements\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" such as benches, ramps, rails and curbs as well as pyramids, snake runs, hips and bowls. The park is enclosed by a wrought-iron fence, which will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to dusk and Mondays from 11 a.m. to dusk for skateboarders and in-line skaters.
