Ambassador Skate Plaza is a well-known street-skating spot in Wilmington, in the Los Angeles Harbor area, and a genuine point of pride for the local scene. After a full revamp, it reopened as a modern plaza designed and built by Spohn Ranch in collaboration with hometown-connected pro Paul “P-Rod” Rodriguez.
The design is all about street skating: a central plaza laid out with an array of stairs, handrails, and hubba ledges, plus banks and manual pads that reward technical, creative skating. There's something for every level, from first ollies up a curb to the kind of tech lines you'd see in a video part. When it reopened, P-Rod threw a demo here with thousands of skaters packing in to celebrate.
It's a free public park, easy to reach in the Harbor/Wilmington area of Los Angeles, and a great add-on for anyone touring Southern California's deep bench of skate spots.
Bring a helmet and pads, and aim for a morning or evening session to dodge the SoCal midday sun. As with any busy public plaza, share the space, wait your turn on the features, and keep the session flowing.
