Smokey Valley Campground is a spacious, well-kept private campground on the banks of Spring Creek in northeastern Oklahoma's Green Country — and the creek is the star. Spring Creek runs some of the clearest, most pristine water in the region, staying cool and refreshing (roughly 50–75°F) through the summer, which makes this a favorite spot to camp, swim, and cool off.
The campground offers a mix of primitive tent sites and RV spots (with 30- and 50-amp hookups and sewer), plus picnic tables, grills, restrooms, Wi-Fi, and fishing access. Whether you're pitching a tent for the weekend or just coming to swim for the day, it's an easy, family-friendly base on the water near Locust Grove.
There's a modest fee for creek access: day passes run about $6 per person (ages 13 and up) and $4 for younger kids, while overnight camping is around $9 per adult and $7 per child — check current rates before you go. You'll find it at 2223 SE 616 Drive, Locust Grove.
Bring water shoes for the rocky, spring-fed creek bottom, watch depths and current with kids, and help keep Spring Creek crystal-clear by packing out all your trash. Late spring through early fall is the season.
