From the parking lot start riding the main trail by the sign. Ride about 30 feet and then take the single track trail to the right. This is called the Horse Trail and leads to all of the trails in the system without having to climb the hill up to the junction with the Lost Goldmine Trail, which is a pretty tough ride. About .65 miles South down the Horse Trail you'll come to a sign for the Cougar Trail. Keep going South for about another 1.5 miles and you'll come across signs marking the Old Horse Trail. Turn left here and ride this trail. It starts out as double track but soon turns to single track after a barrier erected to stop quad traffic. After a bit you will pass a sign for the Vortex Trail on the left. For this ride keep heading East on the Old Horse Trail. After another half a mile you'll come to a junction with an unmarked trail to the left. This is the end of the K-Trail and you will come back here after riding the Secret and Tech loops. Very soon you will cross 3 jeep roads. Stick to the double track heading east which is the Old Horse Trail. You will know you're on the right trail when it crosses a big wash and then crosses a double wash a short time later. Ignore the first jeep road on the right and the next 3 to the left. Not far past the last one of these look for a narrow single track on the right. This trail is not marked because it is the Secret Trail. Take this trail and it will soon drop off a big rock into a sandy wash and then climb to a junction with the loop leading to the top of the hill. Ride this loop either direction and then come back to the Old Horse Trail and turn right. After about 100 yards look for the single track on the left. This the K-Trail heading back West. Take this trail to the sign marking The Tech Loop which is .82 miles long and has several technical features, I would label this trail as advanced. It will lead back to the K-Trail. Turn right and follow this fun trail back West until you come to a junction with the Vortex Loop (you could, of course, ride this loop but it's not part of the ride described here). Turn left to get back to The Old Horse trail and follow it back the way you came to get back to the Cloudview Parking lot. Courtesy of Singletracks.com
