Mountain Bike

The Ruidoso trail is a beginner ride with a few tricky dry wash crossings that will challenge you to try and stay on the pedals. This trail ends at the Spillway trail after 1.2 miles. Turn right on Spillway and after a short ,somewhat sandy, ride turn left on the Meridian trail. Almost right away you will come to the sign for the Cat Peaks trail. All trails are well marked with signs. Cat Peaks is an intermediate trail with moderate climbs up to the pass between Cat Peaks and Pass Mountain. There are several rock and log barriers crossing the trail to divert water and challenge you to stay on the pedals. The same sort of barriers make the descent down the back side of the pass a lot of fun. The trail ends at the Blevins trail. Turn left to get back to the Meridian trail another left and you will shortly complete the loop around mountains and can turn right on Spillway then left on Ruidoso to get back to Meridian Road where you started. Never modify trail features. Ride trails when they're dry enough that you won't leave ruts. Speak up when you see others on the trail and always yield to hikers, horses, and others coming uphill. Always ride on the established trail.
