Cave, Hike, and Swim
Short Creek is well known for being the shortest creek in the world. This is a 150 foot section of creek that emerges from an underground river. The water flowing from underground make this water flow at 56 degrees year round. This spot is popular for people wanting to explore unique water features or cool off swimming on a hot summers day. The clean blue water is striking against the surrounding lush green woods, making this a unique and untouched area to explore.
Short Creek is privately owned, but the owners allow visitors to explore the land. They ask that visitors not repel, light fires or camp in the area. Please respect the natural beauty of this place and be sure not to disturb or destroy this oasis for the owners and other visitors. Visitors to this private property are welcome to hike, swim, picnic or explore the small cave on the property. The cave is easy to get to and allows you to see the water as it returns underground from its stretch on the surface.
Visitors can find Short Creek just off of Kentucky Highway 80 in eastern Pulaski County.
