The last of "Satan's Staircase," this is a crazy-steep push up to the top of Buckwheat Knob. Once to the top of the knob, the trail flattens out a little, climbs a little more gradually, and then descends to the intersection with Avery Creek. Or if you decide to descend it back towards FS 477, prepare to get your butt behind the saddle as it drops downhill quickly! This trail is 1.5 miles in one direction. Courtesy of Singletracks.com
