Caesar Creek State Park is one of the premier outdoor recreation and nature preserve areas in the state of Ohio. The seventy-nine hundred acre park offers a wide variety of recreational and educational opportunities. You can have an exciting week of boating and camping with your family, revel in the quite solitude of a deeply wooded hiking trail, or simply stand and enjoy the clear blue skies and crisp breeze of a growing meadow. The Park's 43 miles of hiking trails provide beautiful and striking views of the lake and the surrounding area. The trails range from mild to extremely rugged as the trails traverse everything from open meadows and shoreline to steep ravines.

From Waynesville, Ohio
- Head southwest on S Main St toward Miami St (0.3 mi)
- Turn left onto OH-73 E (1.2 mi)
- Turn right onto N Clarksville RdDestination will be on the right(2.9 mi)
To put the largest and more secluded camping area--Day Lodge Group Camp--near the halfway point of the hike, park at the Wellman Meadows Trailhead on the southeast side of the lake. From the interchange of Interstate 71 and State Route 73, take SR 73 west for 4.0 miles and turn left onto Oregonia Road. Travel 2.3 miles on Oregonia Road and turn right onto the road leading to the Wellman Meadows Boat Ramp. Look for a large state park sign reading "Wellman Meadows Group Camp / Wellman Meadows Boat Ramp" at the road's entrance. Travel this road for 0.6 mile and turn right into the trailhead parking area. The Wellman Meadows Group Camp is located just ahead on the left. Day hikers have the option of parking at numerous other developed facilities around the southern one-third of the lake.
