Twelve miles south of Jackson you will find the Hoback River which is one of the more accessible rivers in the Jackson Hole, Yellowstone region. Highway 191 parallels it the river most of the Hoback's length from the confluence with the Snake River to about five miles south of the town of Bondurant where the river turns west into the Wyoming Range. The highway provides good access for fishermen and the river has a good population of moderate sized cutthroat trout. Through Hoback River Canyon the highway closely follows the river with pullouts and a several camping areas both developed and undeveloped.
