Not much of a hike but an awesome view, especially in the fall. It's a great viewpoint for all the colorful trees along the river and the Falls are one of those "Holy Cow, how have I never seen this before?!?!" kind of things. The falls are big and beautiful.

One of the best parts about going to this waterfall is the drive. It's a gorgeous road that takes you straight to the falls. It's more of a walk than a hike.

It is a really beautiful waterfall! There is a little spot on the side of the road right above the waterfall that you can pull out and park. Cross a little stream and walk along a trail for two minutes and you are right above the waterfall. There is a flat spot about 7 feet across that you can stand and take pictures from. If you want to get down closer to the falls there is a really steep, sandy, slide down (it's about 5 feet long, if that) or right across is a little rock wall with a few steps down to a smaller viewing spot. We took the rock steps because it provided an easier way to get down and didn't kick up nearly as much dust. Because the smaller viewing spot is right next to the waterfall there are several cliff edges with sudden drops. We took pictures and walked around for a bit, being careful not to fall over the edge (some of the drop offs are a good 10-15 ft drop). There is a little grotto behind part of the waterfall and the rock steps you take to get down. Watch your head if you go in, the ceiling is low. It felt really nice going into the grotto because the water is falling over you and it provides some nice shade and mist from the heat. If you want to take nice pictures, midday is not the best time because of how bright the sun gets out there. I would suggest early morning or sunset. But the view of the Snake River and the nearby mountains was also really pretty to see as well. We saw a lot of Pelicans out there and a few people boating.
