Layton City Skate Park at Ellison Park is a standout free, public skatepark in Davis County, and a genuine favorite for anyone who loves bowls and transition. Spread across about 16,700 square feet of concrete, it mixes flowy bowl terrain with a proper street section, so bowl carvers and ledge technicians both find plenty to session.
The centerpiece is a clover bowl with stepped depths — roughly a 7-foot section, a 10-foot section, and an 11-foot wall with an overhang for the brave. A second bowl offers a 9-foot deep end, a 7-foot “twinkie” that spills into the street course, and a mellower 5-foot horseshoe you can ride like a mini ramp. On the street side you'll find a pair of 6-foot banks with ledges and an 8-foot extension leading into a crisp pyramid.
The park is lit for evening sessions, unsupervised, and completely free to skate. You'll find it at Ellison Park, 700 North 2200 West in Layton, open daily from early morning until late.
Utah law requires helmets for younger riders, so bring your gear. Summer evenings under the lights are prime here — pack water and enjoy one of the better bowl parks along the Wasatch Front.
