Lincoln Woods State Park Beach is the freshwater swimming beach on Olney Pond inside Lincoln Woods State Park in Lincoln, Rhode Island. The swim area was dedicated as Frank Moody State Beach in 1977, and both names are still in use. The park is run by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management's Division of Parks and Recreation. It was the state's first park, set aside on February 12, 1909, and it now covers 627 acres of woods, glacial boulders and trails wrapped around the pond.

The park address is 2 Manchester Print Works Road in Lincoln, between Route 146 and Route 123, a short drive north of Providence and Pawtucket. Most people come in through the covered bridge at the Breakneck Hill entrance and follow the Les Pawson Loop, a one-way road that circles the pond counter-clockwise. The beach sits at the south end of Olney Pond, and its parking lot is right behind the sand next to the beach pavilion. Buses are allowed in the day-use lot only for groups holding a special use permit.

The beach is a strip of sand along the south shore of the pond. DEM opened the current beach pavilion in 2017 with a concession stand, restrooms, showers and an expanded nature center. As part of that project it moved the swim area east, away from sensitive wetlands, and took the old septic system out of service to help water quality in the pond. Lifeguards are on duty from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in season, as staffing allows. Outside those hours you swim at your own risk. DEM does not publish depth or water temperature figures for the pond. Stay inside the marked swim area, where the guards can see you, and keep in mind that boats use the rest of the pond.

Swimming is free. Rhode Island's daily and season beach parking fees ($6 to $14 a car) apply only to the eight state ocean beaches, and Lincoln Woods is not one of them. Its own park page lists no admission or parking charge. Fees here are for extras. A picnic table costs $5 a day and requires a permit, shelters run $75 to $150, and groups or school buses need a special use permit applied for at least 30 days ahead. Restrooms are open May 1 to October 31. Leashed dogs are allowed in the park.

The Rhode Island Department of Health tests the water through the summer and sometimes recommends closing the swim area after a high bacteria count. That happened in early August 2024, and the area reopened two days later. Check health.ri.gov/beaches or call the RIDOH beach line at 401-222-2751 before you go. Olney Pond is also open to boats. Motors of any kind except electric trolling motors are banned on weekends and holidays from the Saturday before Memorial Day through Labor Day, and motors over 10 horsepower are not allowed at any time. In winter, park staff test the ice for skating.

Outside the swim area, the park has a boat ramp on the pond for canoes and kayaks, trout fishing with accessible shoreline spots from mid-April to Columbus Day, Little League and open game fields, picnic groves and a network of trails through boulder-strewn woods. Trails west of Quinsnicket Road are reserved for horseback riders, and Sunset Stables holds the riding concession. Mountain bikers and hikers share the trails east of the road. The paved loop road around the pond is a favorite with walkers, runners and cyclists, and the park hosts road races through the year.
