Hazel Falls is a beautiful swimming hold near Double Ford, Virginia. Though this swimming hole is not large or deep, the water is cool and clear. This remote swimming hole surrounded by beautiful forests with a small branching waterfall. The waterfall cascades over low rocky cliffs that contrast with the green moss that grows all over. This lush green area makes for the perfect place to cool off and enjoy nature.
The water falls are split into an upper pool and a lower pool. The upper falls features a rocky overhang that creates a small shelter, and the lower falls has a deeper pool for swimming. The hike is to the falls is a little over a mile from the Meadow Springs Parking Area. Hikers will take Hazel Mountain Trail to White Rocks Trail. Follow White Rocks Trail for .8 miles to an unmarked trail that leads down to Hazel River.
