Mountain Bike
The Jordanelle Perimeter Trail is an expert trail found along the edges of the Jordanelle Reservoir. Several portions of the trail run along dirt roads as well as mountain bike only trails. The park does require a fee to enter, and there are three different trailheads: Old Highway, Rock Cliff, and Mayflower trail. The trailhead for Rock Cliff starts at the Rock Cliff campground, while the other two are a little bit more difficult to find.
Rock Cliff trail is considered an expert trail, and even from the beginning will pose a challenge. The trail will begin to go up hill pretty quickly, so beginners will be pushing their bikes up the slope, as well as through some loose rock along the trail. This portion of the trail is about 4 miles, and if doing a point to point ride, it would be best to go the north to south route. The north to south trail is not as difficult, though still is not going to be the best trail for a new rider.
Overall this 29 mile trail offers a lot in ways of views and trail experience. The lake is a beautiful setting and if going in the early morning, will not be full of boats. The trail itself allows some good practice for more experience riders and a good introduction of more advanced riding for the beginner mountain biker.
