Blanco State Park is a unique little park on the Blanco River. This spring fed swimming hole is created by a multi level rectangular damn in the River. The water cascades over the unique angles of the damn creating beautiful waterfall views and the sound of rushing water. The walking trails around the park provide a great path to explore all the beauty. The paths are wooded and easy to walk.

Swimming and boating are allowed along most of the park's mile of riverfront. Visitors can bring their own kayaks, canoes or electric motor boats. Single or double kayak rentals are also available at the park seasonally and require a $20 credit car deposit.

Fishing is allowed on the Blanco River, and fishers often catch bass, catfish, rainbow trout and sunfish. The park has some fishing equipment that can be borrowed in season or fishers may bring their own. In  the winter the river is stocked with trout.

Blanco State Park offers campsites to it's visitors who wish to spend more time enjoying the water. Campsites with electricity or full hook-ups are available for $20 to $25 a night. Each campsite has picnic tables, a fire ring and restrooms near by. Screened shelters are also available at $30 a night.

Entry fees to Blanco State Park are $5 for visitors 13 and older and free for children under 13.
