Disc Golf
Saratoga Hills is the neighborhood disc golf course for the fast-growing city of Saratoga Springs, Utah, on the western shore of Utah Lake, and it's exactly the kind of free, friendly, easy-to-reach course that gets a community throwing. Nine holes tucked into a quiet residential park, it's approachable enough for beginners and kids and convenient enough for a quick after-work round, which is a big part of why it draws a steady local following.
The layout is straightforward and pleasant rather than punishing. Nine holes rated moderate wind among residential homes and scattered trees, with a typical round taking about an hour over roughly eight-tenths of a mile of easy walking. It carries a solid 3.5 out of 5 across more than 500 community reviews, a fair reflection of a well-liked neighborhood course: nothing championship-caliber, but a genuinely fun little layout that rewards accuracy and touch over raw distance.
The park setting is a real plus. Along with the course you'll find drinking water, cart-friendly paths and pet-friendly areas, plus a basketball court, a pavilion with grills, and a playground, which makes it easy to bring the whole family and let some play on the course while others use the park. There's even a small waterfall feature on one corner, an unexpected touch of scenery for a residential park.
You'll find it at 1379 South Parkside Drive in Saratoga Springs, and it's free to play with no check-in. As a neighborhood park course threaded among homes, a little courtesy goes a long way: watch for park users, kids and the odd errant drive toward the residences, and keep throws controlled on the tighter, tree-lined holes.
Utah County's seasons set the calendar, with spring through fall the natural window and summer rounds best in the cooler morning and evening hours given the exposed, high-desert setting. Winter shuts things down under snow.
Bring water, sun protection, and a putter and midrange more than a full distance bag, since this is a control course. For anyone in Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain or Lehi wanting a free, quick, family-friendly round close to home, Saratoga Hills is an easy and enjoyable local pick.
