Mountain Bike
The Gooseberry Mesa trail, located near Hurricane, Utah, is one of the most scenic mountain biking trails in southern Utah. Located near the Little Creek Mesa trail, it features beautiful mesas, desert scenery, and a challenging loop for all riders. Riders can see beautiful Zion National Park from the trail and will be awestruck as they ride through this beautiful trail. The trail itself is shorter than the Little Creek Mesa trail at about 13.4 miles long, but it could be considered more difficult than the Little Creek Mesa trail because of challenging climbs, steep descents, and cliffs close to the trail.
No need to fret over the safety of the trail, it is very safe as long as riders take precautions as they ride and do not attempt to ride the trail too quickly or in inclement weather. Do not attempt to ride this trail during a rain storm or just after a rain storm to both protect riders and the trail. Rider safety can become compromised if riding during the rain with the slick rock becoming slippery creating slip and fall hazards for riders. The trail may also become damaged and harder to ride for future riders if the trail is attempted to be ridden during or just after a rain storm.
The best time to ride this trail is from April to November as the weather in the area is much better during these times and there are prime trail conditions. This trail was created just over 20 years ago by local riders who maintain the trail frequently. Mountain bikers from all over the world enjoy the Gooseberry Mesa trail because of its beauty, the untamed nature of the trail, and the challenge it presents. You will not want to miss out on the Gooseberry Mesa trail if you are in southern Utah.
