Devil's Well, located near Hawley, Pennsylvania, is a popular swimming hole area that also features a beautiful out and back style hiking trail on the way to the swimming hole. Known by daredevils and adrenaline junkies as a place to film their extreme stunts, it is also a great place to cool off and go for a swim on a hot summer day. You don't have to like doing crazy stunts to enjoy Devil's well, there is more than likely something for you when you hike the scenic trail in the dense Pennsylvania woods to the swimming hole and see beautiful flowers, trees, and wildlife along the way.
The best time to access the Devil's Well is from April to October for the best swimming conditions and for hiking. The trail is 3.1 miles and is accessed just off of Devil's Hole Road. There is parking that is just off the road and leads to the Devil's Well trailhead. Be prepared with adequate hiking shoes that can get wet as hikers will cross the creek running through the trail several times before getting to the swimming hole.
Devil's Well is an adventurer's paradise that will show what some might consider to be a true all-American summer hot spot. Your next adventure could be waiting for you at Devil's Well!
