Skateboard

Donald Skatepark is a small but well-loved concrete skate spot in the tiny farming town of Donald, Oregon, in the Willamette Valley south of Portland. Punching well above its weight for a town of only a few hundred people, this pool-style park is a favorite of transition skaters passing through the mid-valley.

Compact at roughly 2,500 square feet, the park is built around a fun pool-style kidney bowl that runs close to nine feet deep at its deepest — a genuine treat for skaters who love to carve and drop in. Alongside the bowl is a smaller transition section with quarterpipes divided by a roller, which makes a nice place to warm up and dial in your lines before dropping into the deep end.

As a free public park, it's an easygoing community spot and a worthwhile stop for anyone chasing Oregon's many concrete parks. As always, gear up with a helmet and pads (especially newer skaters), be courteous and take turns, bring water, and check for any posted hours before you skate. For its size, Donald delivers a lot of fun.

Donald has a great swimming pool and a mellow half-pipe to skate. Both are very smooth, and lots of fun to skate. (July ’02)
