Hike
Wraith Falls Trail is a less than 1 mile there and back hike that can be taken in under an hour. This is a wonderful family friendly hike that is easy for hikers of all levels.
The hike leads to the 79 foot Wraith Falls on Lupine Creek. The waterfall provides a white fanlike contrast to the brown rock behind it. Wraith Falls Trail is open year round, giving visitors at any time of year access to this beautiful waterfall. Wraith Falls Trail passes meadows, marshlands and forests as it heads to the waterfall.
The trailhead is located a half mile east of the Lava Creek Picnic Area near Mammoth Hot Springs. There is a pullout by the trailhead where parking is available.
Hikers and families visiting Yellowstone National Park will enjoy the beautiful walk along Wraith Falls Trail. Though Wraith Falls is not Yellowstone's largest waterfall, its unique flat, fanlike structure makes it a sight worth seeing. This easy, short hike is an easy mini adventure to add to any visit.
