Fingerlake overlooks Fontana Lake near Almond, NC. Fingerlake is the perfect place to cool off on a hot day. Fingerlake has a day use area that is open to the public from dawn to dusk from April to October. This offshoot of Fontana lake provides visitors with gravel on all sides providing a wonderful space to enjoy the sun and easy access to the water. Swimming, kayaking and canoeing are all allowed on Fingerlake when the day use area is open.

Fontana Lake is a man made lake, with fingelake being an offshoot of it. This means the lake has a steep gradient and visitors that are not strong swimmer should wear a safety floatation device. 

Fingerlake is surrounded by a heavy, lush green forest that provides picturesque views year round. The lake sometimes mirrors the trees and during the fall the slow change of a variety of colorful trees provide visitors with a spectacular view. 

The day use area has restrooms and picnic tables available for visitors to use. Visitors are also also allowed to fish at Fingerlake. The easy access and variety of activities make this a must visit destination.
